When you bring up Nintendo in a conversation, most are going to immediately think of one of three things: Mario, Zelda, or Donkey Kong. Some may scoff, "I don't need that kid stuff anymore, I've got Halo on my Xbox and GTA on my PS2. Why would I need some cartoon characters?" Well, Mr. Scoffer, I have the answer for you. The Nintendo GameCube has the CLEAR advantage in one important aspect of gaming for grown-ups: The drinking game.

Yes, you heard me right. When it comes to devising new ways to get drunk because the old ones aren't working for you anymore, just pick up a GameCube, 4 controllers and your choice of many titles that make WONDERFUL drinking games. For example, set up a 4 player Super Smash Brothers Melee contest. When everyone has their favorite adult beverage ready to go you may commence the contest. Take a sip every time you get KO’d and finish your beverage immediately after being eliminated. In addition you can set up bonus drinks for the end of the game. Fourth place gets to take a shot of vodka, third can take one of whiskey, second gets tequila and first place gets Jager.

Smash Brothers not your bag of tea? How about some Mario Kart Double Dash? Be sure to use your imagination. How about everyone drinks when someone gets hit by a blue turtle shell? The combinations are limitless. Plus you get to safely and legally drink and drive!

Two words that need no explanation: Mario Party.

These are just a few of the endless possibilities for your next video game party. The GameCube is the hands down winner for drinking games for many reasons. One, the games are fun and simple. Two, many of them are self handicapping. By this I mean it doesn’t take a lot of skill to come out on top, luck is just a big a factor (blue turtle shells . . .). Finally, why the hell would you want to drink and play Halo, Socom, etc. For drunken hilarity, GameCube reigns supreme!

Realm Media Networks does not endorse binge drinking or operating heavy machinery or automobiles while under the influence of alcohol. Please observe any local drinking laws with respect to the ages of drinking game participants. Cheers!
