Nintendo Wii begins shipping to retailers
Nintendo has begun packaging massive amounts of Wii systems to be sent out to retailers in the U.S. for the November 19th release. With that date just over a week away, and millions of units to get to stores, there is a lot of work to do.
Nintendo is shipping Wii game consoles to retailers in the U.S. in time for the official Nov. 19 release date. Nintendo anticipates shipping 4 million consoles worldwide by the end of 2006, with the largest share of these going to the Americas.
Nintendo is also hard at work on packaging the games to along with the Wii, including the most anticipated title: The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess. It will only be one of the 60+ games available on launch day, but it will probably be one of the most purchased titles by the end of the year.
Lines will form, retailers will sell out, and on November 19th many gamers will get their first real time with Nintendo's revolutionary new console.
